In 1920, our address (711 Milby Street) became the headquarters of Cameron Iron Works, a company whose innovations reshaped the oil and gas industry worldwide.

The same building later played a critical role in U.S. manufacturing during World War II, when Cameron Iron Works became a direct supplier to the military and received the U.S. Navy’s Excellence in Production Award—an honor awarded to only 5% of war production facilities in the nation.

It was here that Cameron Iron Works developed and produced the first blowout preventer, a breakthrough that fundamentally changed oilfield safety and earned recognition from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers as a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark.
